About

The modding scene has always been filled with different personalities, different goals, and different ways people express themselves through their work. Sometimes you meet people who quietly improve their skills over time, and sometimes you run into people who move like every upload is a challenge directed at someone else. That energy has existed for years, especially in communities where recognition becomes more important than the actual passion behind creating mods.

Description

There are moments where other modders indirectly throw out messages that basically sound like, "look, I can make a better mod than you." Honestly, that kind of thing does not really bother me anymore. I am not interested in turning modding into some endless competition where people constantly try to prove who is superior. My focus has always been consistency, learning little by little, and improving my own work over time. At the same time, I genuinely enjoy seeing other modders improve too, because a growing community is far more interesting than a community built entirely around ego battles.

I also fully accept that some people may think my mods are ugly, unfinished, or full of flaws. That is normal in creative work, especially in modding where everyone has different standards and preferences. Nobody starts perfectly, and honestly nobody ever completely reaches perfection either. But as fellow modders, it is important not to use someone else's weaknesses as a shortcut to make ourselves appear superior. The moment people become too focused on looking better than others, they often stop focusing on becoming genuinely better themselves.

At the end of the day, modding should still feel like a place to create, experiment, fail, improve, and keep moving forward without turning everything into personal rivalry. There is nothing wrong with healthy inspiration or motivation from seeing other people's work, but constantly trying to "win" against others can quietly slow down personal growth without people realizing it. I would rather continue learning at my own pace while watching the community evolve together instead of treating every new upload like a battlefield.

I honestly do not have a problem when another modder creates a mod using the same character model or the same source idea, as long as the result is genuinely their own work and effort. Different people naturally produce different styles, different quality levels, and different interpretations, and that is part of what keeps the modding scene interesting. The real problem starts when someone tries to push themselves higher by constantly mocking or degrading another modder’s work instead of focusing on improving their own skills.

If the criticism is directed at my own mods, I can still accept it personally because I already understand that not everyone will like what I make. But not every modder thinks the same way. Some people are still learning, still building confidence, and they might completely lose motivation after being constantly ridiculed or treated like their work has no value. In the end, someone acting overly superior can quietly destroy another creator’s passion without even realizing it.

That is honestly the saddest part about communities with a small number of active modders. Instead of encouraging each other to grow, some people end up discouraging newcomers or smaller creators the moment they try to improve. A community cannot evolve properly if every mistake becomes a reason for humiliation. People should be allowed to learn, fail, improve, and keep creating without feeling like they are being crushed just because they are not already at the highest level.

And we are still only talking about conflicts between modders themselves. The bigger plague honestly comes from toxic people outside the creative side of the community, the kind of people who contribute absolutely nothing yet somehow act the loudest. They keep demanding mods, updates, fixes, private ports, or special treatment like entitled customers who paid with air and empty words. Most of them do not understand the amount of time wasted fixing crashes, broken weights, textures, rigging issues, or endless trial and error behind a single release, because in their heads mods magically appear out of nowhere for free.

Then these same people wonder why many modders slowly disappear, stop releasing publicly, lock their projects, or completely leave the community. It is because constantly dealing with parasites disguised as supporters becomes exhausting after a while. A small modding community should have been a place where creators help each other grow, but instead some people turn it into a pit full of ego, manipulation, and nonstop disrespect toward anyone still trying to create something. The cruel part is that talented creators often quit quietly while the loud toxic people remain, slowly rotting the community from the inside.
